O’Brien Ranches have been operating since 1834 and producing nice using horses since the 1940s. Horses are used daily on the ranch to work cattle in the pasture and in the pens. They are required to handle a long day’s work through endurance and hardiness. O’Brien Ranch horses are known for their cow sense, nice big bones and good feet. The horses at the O’Brien Ranch carry the brands of the B, the Flying O and the J half H. While known for good ranch and roping horses, the O’Brien Ranch horses have also made their mark in the show pen. They have produced AQHA champions, World Champions and Reserve World Champions, some of which are Wildfire Joe, Quincy Dude and Quail Bar Quincy.
